إشكالية ترجمة مصطلحات رياضة الفورموال وان عبر التعليق الصوتي- ملخص جائزة أسرتاليا الكربى)قناة بيني سبورت على اليوتيوب( - منوذجا
    (University of Tlemcen, 2026-04-06)
This study addresses the translation of coined terms in the world of motor sports, particularly Formula 1, considering the diversity of their functions and characteristics. It is an analytical and descriptive study based on an analysis of the terminology specific to Formula 1 through the lens of voice commentary from the sports channel beIN Sports. A sample of summaries from the channel available on YouTube was selected, notably the summary of the Australian Grand Prix. This choice was made due to the varied race conditions, such as rain and team strategy shifts during the competition for top positions. The study relies on a theoretical framework that combines specialized translation studies, terminology, linguistic borrowing, and media theories. It also draws on analytical models proposed by prominent translation theorists such as Peter Newmark, Ghassan Aboud, and Eugene Nida, along with recent research on audiovisual translation and sports commentary. The research concluded that translating Formula 1 voice commentary into Arabic faces multiple challenges, most notably the density of technical terms and excessive reliance on borrowing, in the absence of a unified terminology policy. The thesis recommends the localization of sports terms through collaboration between translators, commentators, and language experts, and the development of critical analysis tools that account for the specific nature of sports media discourse.

In recent years, audio-visual translation has emerged as one of the most dynamic and widely recognized branches of translation studies. This growing interest is closely tied to the continuous development of the audio-visual industry, where productions especially documentaries have become essential tools for conveying both visual and auditory content with precision. Nevertheless, the wide reach and fast circulation of these materials often pose challenges related to cultural differences, making adaptation a key strategy in overcoming such barriers. This research paper focuses on the documentary "Our Planet", known for its compelling narrative and strong environmental message. Celebrated for its impact in raising awareness about the natural world and the effects of climate change, the film serves as a valuable case study. Through a descriptive and analytical approach, we conducted an applied study on selected subtitling samples from this work

(University of Tlemcen, 2026-03-17) بلعباسي حليمة السعدية
This research aims to examine the translation of the literary-political discourse related to the rights of Palestinian women and to explore the extent to which translation can convey this discourse to foreign readers without distortion or alteration. Such distortions weaken the effectiveness of the text¸ distort its message¸ and diminish the value of the translation itself. The study therefore emphasizes the need for trained translators in this field to ensure accuracy and fidelity in the translation process.

This study provides an opportunity to explore the limits of the effectiveness of chatbots in translating Algerian Chaabi songs. As it highlights their strengths and weaknesses, and gives solutions to improve the quality of their translation. We selected a set of verses from Kamel Messaoudi's song “Ya Hasra Alik Ya Denya” to be translated by chat gpt and gemini, and then compared with a human translation of the same song. Through this comparison, it was possible for us to determine how effective their translation for this type of song was, as well as the difficulties and challenges they face in this process. Thus, these applications can be developed, more inclusive, and more efficient with better quality of translation.

Translation is an effective means of conveying meaning between languages through a single communication channel. However, the focus has long been directed solely toward the linguistic aspect, while one of the most crucial components of communication—body language—has been largely neglected. This study aims to shed light on this non-verbal dimension of the interpreter’s performance, whether conscious or unconscious, and to highlight its vital role in reinforcing or shaping the transmitted message in ways that impact the audience.

This thesis focuses on translation of terms appearing in customs brochures, combining mastery of terminological principles with practical application to derive precise and useful terms. The terms were divided into two categories: those with an exact English equivalent, whose contextual analysis demonstrated successful transmission of their meaning; and those lacking a direct equivalent, for which we employed the collocation technique to form new terms that preserve both the original conceptual structure and functional context, thereby enhancing translation quality and credibility in this field.

This study aims to highlight the concept of mind mapping developed by the scientist Tony Buzan, which is a means and tool that aids in interpretation and learning. It is based on organizing and representing information in a way that makes it easier for the mind to comprehend and store. Translation is a process and a mental activity that requires a constant and ongoing activation of the translator's cognitive functions. From this perspective, the relationship between translation education and mind maps emerges, as the latter focuses on developing and improving the capacity and efficiency of learners and teachers to understand texts, organize ideas, and quickly comprehend them, thus achieving high-quality translations.

    (University of Tlemcen, 2026-03-16)
This study examines the phenomenon of fan led video game translation (fan translation) as a critical intervention in audiovisual translation (AVT) and game localization. While official localization prioritizes marketability and cultural adaptation, fan translations emerge to address gaps in accessibility, linguistic fidelity, and cultural preservation particularly for games neglected by publishers. Through a mixed-methods approach combining textual analysis and case studies (e.g., Final Fantasy V, Mother 3), this research explores how fan translations challenge industry norms, foster global player communities, and influence commercial practices.

This study aims to address the issue of cultural translation by focusing on the close relationship between language and cultural context, as meaning cannot be separated from the environment in which it was produced. It has been observed that translators, when dealing with content drawn from local heritage, face significant challenges that require them to seek effective solutions that preserve the original meaning without distortion. In this regard, the study highlights the main strategies used in translating cultural terms, as well as the techniques that can help translators overcome cultural gaps between source and target languages. The research concludes with a practical case study analysing a selection of terms taken from the Tlemcenian Chedda, with the objective of evaluating these terms in light of the theoretical findings and assessing the effectiveness of the adopted approaches in conveying their symbolic and cultural significance in the target language.
