We have selected the historical series The Crown, which was broadcast on Netflix over multiple seasons. It explores how translators navigate cultural references, irony, and political expression, showing that translation in protest contexts is both a linguistic and political act.Item أنموذجا Family Guy استراتيجيات ترجمة السخرية في الرسوم المتحركة من الانجليزية إلى العربية(University of Tlemcen, 2026-03-18)This research aims to study the strategies for translating irony in animated series from English into Arabic through a case study of Family Guy. The study focuses on how the satirical dimensions of the original work are conveyed into Arabic, highlighting the challenges faced by translators due to cultural, religious, and political differences. The research relies on a comparative analysis of selected satirical excerpts from the series, categorized by their political, social, or cultural nature. The findings reveal that the main strategies employed in translating irony include literal translation, cultural equivalence, clarification, and omission when no adequate equivalent can be found.Item Our planet التكييف في الترجمة السمعية البصرية دراسة وصفية تحليلية لسترجة الفيلم الوثائقي(University of Tlemcen, 2026-03-18) دالي رشيدة; بوزيدي خولة جيهانIn recent years, audio-visual translation has emerged as one of the most dynamic and widely recognized branches of translation studies. This growing interest is closely tied to the continuous development of the audio-visual industry, where productions especially documentaries have become essential tools for conveying both visual and auditory content with precision. Nevertheless, the wide reach and fast circulation of these materials often pose challenges related to cultural differences, making adaptation a key strategy in overcoming such barriers. This research paper focuses on the documentary "Our Planet", known for its compelling narrative and strong environmental message. Celebrated for its impact in raising awareness about the natural world and the effects of climate change, the film serves as a valuable case study. Such distortions weaken the effectiveness of the text¸ distort its message¸ and diminish the value of the translation itself. As it highlights their strengths and weaknesses, and gives solutions to improve the quality of their translation. We selected a set of verses from Kamel Messaoudi's song “Ya Hasra Alik Ya Denya” to be translated by chat gpt and gemini, and then compared with a human translation of the same song. Through this comparison, it was possible for us to determine how effective their translation for this type of song was, as well as the difficulties and challenges they face in this process. Thus, these applications can be developed, more inclusive, and more efficient with better quality of translation.Item إشكالية دبلجة الأفلام الكرتونية من الانجليزية إلى العربية دراسة نقدية هايدي -نموذجا(University of Tlemcen, 2026-03-17)Dubbing is one of the most important techniques closely related to animated films, as it plays a significiant role in transferring a work from one culture to aother. In this context, we will highlight how it is translated and adapted to align with the culture of the audience. We will also focus on the key statgies used in this type of translation. The cartoon « Heidi » serves as a model for conducting this study, and we will rely on the analytical approach.Item ترجمة الموروث الأدبي الشعبي – البوقالة أنموذجا(University of Tlemcen, 2026-03-17)This research, entitled « translation of popular literary heritage -the case of the Algerian Bouqala» aims to address the issue of translation in the transmission, the enrichment and the dissemination of popular literature. This study adopts a methodological structure composed of two theoretical chapters and one applied chapter. This approach led us to identify several results, the most significant being: the obstacles faced by the translation of cultural symbols embedded in popular heritage. Its role in preserving this heritage from disappearance. The study aims to understand how media messages are transferred between languages, with a focus on the characteristics of news headlines and the techniques used in translation. It is based on organizing and representing information in a way that makes it easier for the mind to comprehend and store. Translation is a process and a mental activity that requires a constant and ongoing activation of the translator's cognitive functions. Salinger's novel "The Catcher in the Rye," aims to assess the extent to which the translator, Ghalib Halasa, maintained stylistic fidelity in his translation of the novel. This is achieved through a comparative analysis of selected examples based on specific stylistic criteria. While official localization prioritizes marketability and cultural adaptation, fan translations emerge to address gaps in accessibility, linguistic fidelity, and cultural preservation particularly for games neglected by publishers. Through a mixed-methods approach combining textual analysis and case studies (e.g., Final Fantasy V, Mother 3), this research explores how fan translations challenge industry norms, foster global player communities, and influence commercial practices.Item دور الترجمة في الحفاظ على الموروث الثقافي لحلي الشدة التلمسانية نمودجا(University of Tlemcen, 2026-03-15) سـوالي سـهيلةThis study aims to address the issue of cultural translation by focusing on the close relationship between language and cultural context, as meaning cannot be separated from the environment in which it was produced. It has been observed that translators, when dealing with content drawn from local heritage, face significant challenges that require them to seek effective solutions that preserve the original meaning without distortion. In this regard, the study highlights the main strategies used in translating cultural terms, as well as the techniques that can help translators overcome cultural gaps between source and target languages. Modern translation techniques, such as artificial intelligence and specialized databases, have contributed to the standardization of terminology across languages. Algeria is also witnessing significant progress in this field, which promotes translation into arabic and ensures the clarity of information for both specialists and the general public alike.
