Abstract

This study explores the translation of jurisprudential verses from Arabic into English, focusing on the linguistic and legal challenges posed by the Qur’an’s unique style. It highlights the impact of rhetorical devices and Islamic legal terminology on translation accuracy, and distinguishes between literal and interpretive approaches. The study also addresses difficulties such as lack of equivalents, multiple interpretations, and doctrinal variation, stressing the need for balance between linguistic and legal competence, as well as the importance of unified references in jurisprudential translation.
