Abstract

Through our research, we defined translation, questioned its being as science or an art. We researched the didactic of translation in Algeria, which was the result of language policies, and then we referred to and described the academic facilities in the translation field in general, and the Translation Division within the University of Tlemcen in particular. Algeria's labour market involves many possible positions for translation degree holders, in many areas of the public and private sectors. Through our field study, we created an electronic questionnaire and published it among professors and students of the Translation Division of the University of Tlemcen, to investigate their point of view on the reality and aspirations of the Translation Division and the Algerian labour market.
