Abstract

The synthesis, characterization and environmental application of MOF-801 for Telon Red adsorption were studied. This adsorbent has been characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), DRX, BET, ATG and SEM. The adsorption capacity increases with the amount of MOF-801 (maximum rate of 97% per 100 mg of adsorbent) .The maximum adsorption capacity is reached when the initial dye concentration is 10 mg / L. The results show that the optimal condition for RT adsorption is at pH 6. The kinetics match well with the pseudo-second order model. The adsorption isotherms of Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin were applied to the experimental equilibrium data for different dye concentrations. The results indicate that MOF-801 shows very good efficiency for Telon Red adsorption.
