Abstract

The topic of my research aims to address the importance of literary translation and its comparison with other foreign languages. I raised the following problem: “Does the difference in source and target languages affect the reliability of literary translation, especially English and Arabic?” The study included a theoretical and an applied aspect and relied on the descriptive analytical approach. By testing questions and hypotheses, we analyzed and extracted errors from the English language into the Arabic language from the novel “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” This study demonstrated the linguistic characteristics present in each language that require a professional and skilled translator.
