Investigating the Use of Podcasts as an Innovative Medium to Enhance EFL Students’ Oral Proficiency: Case of 1 st year at Tlemcen University

Abstract

This study explores how podcasts enhance English oral proficiency and the role of AI in podcast creation among EFL teachers and students at Tlemcen University. Findings show podcasts improve fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, accuracy, and aural skills, while AI tools in podcast projects boost engagement, confidence, and reduce effort. Yet, technological, pedagogical, and student-related barriers hinder their implementation in EFL instruction.
