Abstract

This study aims to translate the cultural characteristics of Algerian society through the subtitling of one of the most successful Algerian drama works, "El Batha," and to emphasize the importance of cultural context, which cannot be separated from language. This places the translator in front of challenges and difficulties that may prevent an accurate translation that reflects the beauty of Algerian culture. These challenges compel the translator to seek and implement necessary solutions to overcome them. In this study, we highlight the most important methods used in translating these cultural contents, which facilitate the translator's task. We concluded our work with an applied study demonstrating our subtitling of series excerpts to measure the effectiveness of these strategies in overcoming the issue of translating cultural contents.
