Abstract
In this globalized era teaching Business English language became a necessity in the
entire world. Teachers are the corner stone of the teaching and learning situation
success, however, less attention is devoted to the needs and requirements of those
practitioners. As a result, this work is an attempt to examine the challenges of
Business English teachers at the University of Tlemcen and to which extent they
need In Service Training. In order to achieve that two questionnaires were done, the
first one was directed to teachers to explore the lacks and challenges that they face
when teaching this module and the second to Business English trainers for testing
the effectiveness of In Service Training delivered to Business English practitioners.
Mixed methods approach was employed to analyze, and interpret the collected data.
The findings showed that teachers have multiple important roles but some
challenges and difficulties prevented them from performing their duties, in addition,
the findings confirmed their need for training in the field, and asserted that Business
English in service training that offered for those teachers was effective and helped
in developing their knowledge and teaching competencies. Thus, heightening the
coefficient and expending the time as well as providing a suitable syllabus of the
module, cooperation and collaboration, specialized in-service training, and the
integration of technology in the classroom.
