Abstract

Abstract Pigeons are one the most know early domesticated animals to serve human for several purposes, and that according to interesting characteristics they carry. In this study, we temp to analyse and dive in the pigeon’s world to fathom these phenotypic characteristics. thus, we can explain and better demonstrate the diversity that exists within these creatures. Here, we've sampled 102 birds of four different breeds from four stations in the region of Tlemcen (extreme northwest of Algeria). Moreover, this study has been based on the collection of data of fifteen morphometric variables which are (Body weight (BW), body length (BL), Body circumference (BC), body height (BH), head length (HL), beak length (BK), beak circumference (BeC), eye diameter (ED), the distance between eyes (DbE), neck length (NL), neck circumference (NC), wing length (WL), tail length (TL), breast length (BrL), Shank Length (SL), then has come the processing of the raw data on Rstudio software. By the end of the statistical analysis, we've discussed the significant results that have proven the important variation among pigeons and the relationship between the studied variables.
