Abstract

This dissertation tackles the issues of oppression and racism against African-American women in the American society. Additionally, it showes how bkack women workes for the emergence of the black feminisim movement in order to find their own voice and to represent themselves in their society, through the analysis of the major themes in Alice Walker’s novel The Color Purple.
