Abstract
In this work, thin layers of ZnO were obtained by a sol-gel process following a
chemical protocol where zinc acetate is used as a precursor material.
Thin ZnO films can be developed by several techniques, such as pyrolysis spray,
thermal evaporation, cathodic sputtering, sol-gel, etc. In this work, thin layers of
Zinc oxide were deposited by the sol-gel technique on glass substrates. The solution
obtained is deposited on glass substrates by the spin-coating technique.
Optical characterization of the films was performed using UV-Visible
spectrophotometry in the spectral range of 280 to 800 nm. Analysis of the
transmittance and absorbance spectra allowed us to determine the thicknesses.
