Bidialectalism in the Speech Community of Tlemcen City

Abstract

The purpose of the current study is to investigate the case of bidialectalism in Tlemcen speech community ,through a variety of research methods and instruments ,research has brought up fascinating results particularly at the linguistic , psychological and social levels . Being bidialectal in multidialectal society in terms of accomodation and dialect use . However , this study aims at knowing how a bidialectal responds in relation to dialect contact when being familiar with more than one according to the age and psychological aspect of an individual . the study came to the conclusion that the case of bidialectalism in general and dialect accomodation in particular are both related to age and the psychological aspect of an individual as well not just in Tlemcen community but in every multidialectal society .
