dc.description.abstractThis research paper deals with both “The Book of Eli” the movie that is written by Gary Whitta and directed by the Hughes Brothers and its depiction of the Manifest Destiny. It highlights the main similarities between the historical events and the plot of the adaptation focusing on several hints or actions that happened in the movie. In order to accomplish such a research, this dissertation is divided into two chapters. The first chapter will shed light on the main historical, political and some religious events that occurred during the manifest destiny starting from the territorial expansion to its origins then ending by Manifest Destiny in the 20th Century adding the American participation in both World Wars the Hiroshima Bomb and the New World Order. As for the second chapter, it deals with the movie “The Book of Eli” it starts with the literary devices of the adaptation among which plot, characterization, and setting and finally analyzing the movie.en_US
