Abstract
The thesis explores the integration of literature and civilisation in the EFL Master's
program at Abou Bekr Belkaid University of Tlemcen, arguing that interdisciplinarity in
EFL education enhances linguistic competence, critical thinking and cultural awareness.
The study analyses the challenges facing students and investigates the overlap of curricular
components and emerging needs. The findings show barriers such as methodological
divergence and limited curricular coherence. However, the integration of literature and
civilisation highlights pedagogical benefits that promote student engagement and
intercultural coexistence. The thesis recommends increasing curricular coherence, using
flexible assessment tools, and encouraging collaborative workshops to create an inclusive
learning environment that promotes students' cultural and social competencies
