Abstract
This study addresses the importance of literary translation and its vital role in the
transmission of cultures, with a focus on the challenges faced in translation between English and Arabic.
The aim of this research is to analyze common linguistic errors in the Arabic translation of the novel
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, emphasizing the impact of these errors on the quality of the
translated text and reader comprehension. The results reveal the presence of recurrent grammatical,
morphological, semantic, and stylistic errors that affect the quality of the translation, and consequently,
the understanding of the text and its cultural credibility. The study also recommends the necessity of
training translators and reviewing translated texts prior to publication, in addition to relying on
specialized dictionaries to avoid such errors. This research highlights the importance of combining
linguistic competence and subject knowledge to achieve high-quality literary translation, thereby
contributing to the enhancement of professional practice in the field of literary translation into Arabic.
