Abstract
In the world of teaching English for communication,it is
essential to raise cultural awareness among both learners and
teachers and make them understanding and appreciating
cultural differences do not only enriches language learning but
also promotes effective cross cultural communication.
Therefore, teachers ought to create inclusive learning
environments where students feel respected and valued
regardless of their cultural backgrounds. The current study
aims at providing the necessary definitions of multiple needed
approaches as well as revealing the main cultural obstacles
found in the ELT textbooks. In order to contribute in raising
the necessary cultural awareness for Algerian teachers, the
investigator chose a sample of teachers from three different
teaching centers in Tlemcen. The data collected led to several
fruitful findings which were deeply analyzed and interpreted
to result some practical suggestions and recommendations
