Abstract

This study aims at identifying the most important techniques and tools used in criminal investigations for scientific police and to translate specialized technical terms from English to Arabic. This memoire studies the role and importance of the scientific police in criminal investigations and the importance of the tools used at the crime scene to reveal the identity of criminals and achieve justice, and the role of translators in translating these tools. After analyzing these terms, to conclude that, most of the techniques adopted in specialized technical translation are limited to literal translation, revision, and borrowing, while some terms still have no equivalent in Arabic, which creates some difficulties for translators.
