This research work explores how emotional intelligence (EI) affects the speaking performance of third-year EFL students at Tlemcen University. Using questionnaires for 30 students and 12 teachers, the study identifies key emotional factors like anxiety, self-confidence, and empathy that influence oral communication. The findings show that students with higher EI participate more actively and confidently in speaking tasks. Teachers also confirmed the positive impact of emotional support on learners’ oral performance. The study concludes with practical suggestions for enhancing speaking skills through emotional intelligence.
