Abstract
The present study is an attempt to help learners explore, express and communicate
their ideas through the medium of literary texts. The obtained data showed that
learners have a low proficiency level in English writing; they face difficulties on both
form and content levels. Therefore, EFL students might benefit from literary texts to
develop their writing abilities in one hand, and improve their proficiency level in
English on the other.
