English language is by far the most widely used when compared to languages that exist in the world. This shows that it has an indisputable status as the international language all over the world as it has imposed itself in every domain. So, it can be learned for academic, occupational, humanistic, socio-cultural, business, scientific and technological purposes. In addition, English is taught through the world in schools, colleges and universities as a foreign language. English as a Foreign Language (EFL) refers to the teaching of English to students whose first language is not English at all. It usually occurs in the students’ own country, either in the state school system or in the private sector. Algeria is aware of the importance of English and EFL is mainly present in tertiary education. Then, the reforms brought by the National Charter (1976) expressed explicitly an awareness that English was to be learned as a means to facilitate a constant communication with the world, to have access to modern sciences and technologies, and to encourage creativity in its universal dimensions.en_US
