Marine resources represent a major field in blue biotechnology, offering significant potential for the discovery of new bioactive molecules, particularly with antimicrobial properties. Among these resources, marine microorganisms are considered a promising source of pharmaceutically valuable secondary metabolites. In this context, the present study focused on the isolation and identification of fungi associated with the green alga Ulva compressa, collected from the Algerian coastline, in order to evaluate their antimicrobial potential. Five fungal isolates were obtained and morphologically identified as belonging to the genera Trichoderma (3 isolates) and Penicillium (2 isolates), both known for their ability to produce bioactive compounds. No actinomycetes were isolated, likely due to unsuitable culture conditions or their low abundance in the sample.
