The main object of this research work is to examine some aspects of sociolinguistic variation particularly phonological, morphological and lexical, in a town named “Maghnia” that is situated near the Algerian/Moroccan border. Given the wealth of this geographical area out of contact with the neighbouring Moroccan regions especially in the commercial field, we try to show to what extent the dialect used in Maghnia is influenced by the Moroccan vernacular, relying on the qualitative and quantitative samples taken from the native speakers’ everyday speech.en_US
