Summary Our study focused on the evaluation of the antifungal activity of essential oil and the hydrosol from the bark of Chinese cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia) against three reference strains of Candida albicans by determination of the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Sessile Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (SMIC). The obtained results showed that the essential oil exhibited a good antifungal effect against Candida albicans strains with the MIC that range from 0.19μg/mL to 6.10μg/mL and the SMIC of 9.37x103μg/mL. On the other hand, the hydrosol revealed a weak antifungal activity against these same strains with MIC varying between 1.56 x103μg/mL and 12.5 x103μg/mL and SCMI higher than 400 x103μg/mL. Keywords: Cinnamomum cassia, essential oil, hydrosol, Candida albicans, biofilms, antifungal activity. en_US
