Abstract

This study provides valuable insights into the capabilities and limitations of chatbots in translating literary texts. It allows us to identify their strengths and weaknesses and suggest ways to improve their performance in the future. To conduct this evaluation, we selected a set of literary texts, including poems and prose passages, for translation by chatbots. The translations obtained were compared with a human reference translation. This comparison allowed us to assess the effectiveness of each chatbot in the field of literary translation and highlight the challenges and difficulties each faced in understanding context and literary style. It will necessarily involve improving machine translation algorithms in order for chatbots to effectively handle this type of translation.
