Abstract
The present study attempts to investigate the effectiveness of watching English
movies with subtitles in mother tongue in vocabulary comprehension of second year
EFL students at Tlemcen University, Algeria. This investigation highlights the role
of watching subtitled English movies in language learning, particularly, vocabulary
comprehension and language skills.
