dc.description.abstractEnergy consumption, harmful air emission and natural resource depletion as three environmental concerns are investigated on the prestressed concrete and to equal extend on steel- concrete composite highway bridges. The main results presented in the paper validate clearly advantage of steel as structural material particularly from the point of view of sustainable development.en_US
