Abstract
This work presents a numerical study of a two-dimensional incompressible flow of turbulent
forced convection air passing through a rectangular pipe with transversal baffles in zigzag form.
The governing equations, based on the standard model used to model turbulence, are solved by
the finite volume method using the SIMPLEC algorithm. The profiles and axial velocity fields,
and the temperatures in the duct were obtained for different types of geometry considered and
for different selected sections, namely, upstream, downstream and between the two baffles.
