Abstract
Ebru art, or painting on water, originated in Central Asia and developed across both Eastern and Western regions, especially during the Ottoman era, where it was closely connected to the art of calligraphy. It spread to Europe via trade routes and became known as marbled paper, eventually becoming part of the continent’s artistic heritage. This art form is distinguished by its unique, random patterns created on the surface of water and then transferred onto paper. It combines beauty and contemplation, with artistic and therapeutic qualities that promote relaxation, reduce stress, and stimulate creativity.
