This doctoral dissertation is focused on analyzing assessment in the Algerian university context. It is fascinating to treat and discuss the results of both the quantitative and qualitative analyses extracted from two questionnaires accompanied by an interview. The primary objective is to demonstrate the degree of effectiveness of innovative assessment on the teaching/learning process in English for specific purposes (ESP) classrooms. The research is grounded in the framework of assessment in English language education, with a didactic perspective aimed at promoting the practitioners' knowledge about assessment and enhancing students' learning outcomes.en_US
