Abstract
The development of industrial and technological activities in the twentieth century has led to an everincreasing
evolution of energy consumption. This leads to an increasing emission of toxic pollutants into the
atmosphere, the main ones being nitrogen oxides (NOx), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), sulfur dioxide
(SO2), dust, and so on. In this thesis, we propose to numerically simulate the evolution of the density of nitrogen
oxides NOx present in the gas mixture N2 / O2 / H2O / CO2 which is subjected to different values of the reduced
electric field: 100 to 200 Td (1Td = 10-17 V.cm2). We are particularly interested in species NO, NO2 and NO3
which are the main components of nitrogen oxides. The simulation extends from 10-9s to 10-3s. The model takes
into account thirty-six species reacting with each other following two hundred chemical reactions. The results
obtained show that 60% of the density of nitric oxide is destroyed by the reaction 𝑵𝑶 + 𝑶𝟒

only 20% of the density of nitrogen dioxide NO2 and trioxide nitrogen NO3 is reduced by the reactions :
