Abstract

This study examines the implementation of English as a medium of instruction (EMI) in Algeria's Faculty of Commercial Sciences and Higher School of Management. It investigates its impact on student academic performance and career opportunities, highlighting challenges faced by teachers and students in explaining complex concepts and engaging effectively. Despite these difficulties, students show a positive attitude towards EMI, acknowledging its long-term benefits. The research stresses the need for strategic planning, resource allocation, and continuous support, including professional development for teachers and additional language classes for students to enhance English proficiency. Overall, it advocates for a comprehensive approach to support successful EMI implementation in higher education in Algeria.
