Abstract
This study examines the implementation of English as a medium of instruction (EMI)
in Algeria's Faculty of Commercial Sciences and Higher School of Management. It
investigates its impact on student academic performance and career opportunities,
highlighting challenges faced by teachers and students in explaining complex
concepts and engaging effectively. Despite these difficulties, students show a positive
attitude towards EMI, acknowledging its long-term benefits. The research stresses
the need for strategic planning, resource allocation, and continuous support, including
professional development for teachers and additional language classes for students to
enhance English proficiency. Overall, it advocates for a comprehensive approach to
support successful EMI implementation in higher education in Algeria.
