Primary stage is the most important stage of the child’s educational life. Therefore, teachers need to be aware of the strategies and the methods they choose, in order to motivate their learners, increase their participation and interaction and to enhance their communicative competence. One of the strategies that can be used in integrating language is the use of communication games. Then, the major aim of this study is to bring a better understanding of the impact of language games on developing learners’ communicative competence. To reach this end, a descriptive study was conducted in Ain Tallout and Ouled Mimoun primary schools using two instruments for data collection, a semi-structured interview for three teachers and a classroom observation for primary pupils. The data collected from these research instruments were analysed qualitatively. The results revealed that communicative games have a great influence in improving the learners’ speaking ability. Moreover, games help the learners become more opened to take a new step and try new things, they help them build their personalities, strengthen their relationships and teach them the meaning of collaborative work.en_US
