Résumé: Geographic routing protocols have shown that they are more suitable for very dynamic and mobile networks like VANET networks. Moreover, in this type of networks, the need of a location service has become extremely important for geographic protocols to find the position of a target node in a very short time. In this thesis, we studied the different solutions of location services and geographic routing protocols for VANETs. The first part of this thesis is to improve, design and develop new geographic routing protocols for unicast routing in VANETs. First, we designed a new routing protocol called GyPTAR for VANETs in urban environments. This protocol is based on accurately measuring road densities in a distributed manner. Secondly, we proposed a routing protocol called PBRP, which consists of three integrated strategies: dissemination of traffic information, partial transmission algorithm and backward recovery strategy. The second part of this thesis proposes location-based services for unicast routing in VANETs. The first proposed locationbased service is able to find the path with high connectivity in an urban environment. This protocol is also able to find the best path with high connectivity between source and destination. The second proposed location-based service consists of a cooperative location-based service, able to find the path with maximum density to ensure the connectivity of vehicles between them.
