Résumé: | Diarrhea is loose, watery stools. Having diarrhea means passing loose stools three or more times a day. Acute diarrhea is a com-mon problem that usually lasts 1 or 2 days and goes away on its own. Chronic diarrhea—diarrhea that lasts at least 4 weeks, may be a symptom of a chronic disease. Chronic diarrhea symptoms may be continual or they may come and go. There are many causes diarrhea, cute diarrhea is usually caused by a bacterial, viral, or parasitic infection. Chronic diarrhea is usually related to a functional disorder such as irritable bowel syndrome or an intestinal disease such as Crohn’s disease. According to the survey, we found that most of the cases are male, where there are 30 male out of 54 cases while the rest are female. The most of the cases are from Sana'a because the hospital is located in Sana'a; another reason is that Sana'a has high density population. About 43 of the children are breastfeeding normally while the others are not. According to the body weight for the selected children, 63 percent are under body weight and 37 percent are normal. As the condition of the patient last for long time, the body weight will decrease gradually and this is might cause dehydration. Finally, all the cases that are selected in the study are a cute diarrhea. Few of them have dehydration. All the cases have taken care of them and they become well. There were any deaths recorded from the selected children. |
