dc.description.abstractType 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease resulting from a selective destruction of beta cells of the islets of Langerhans occurring on a genetically predisposed ground The child diabetes or juvenile diabetes threatens more and more the health of the population of the city of Maghnia in its prevalence knew a horrible increase these last year’s according to the figures carried on this study The service of pediatrics of the EPH Maghnia has taken in charge 143 new cases these last 2 years The symptoms of type 1 diabetes appear brutally by a syndrome polyuria poly dypsic a slimming asthenia and alteration of the general state moreover at an advanced stage we find most often signs of diabetic ketosis nausea vomiting anorexia abdominal pain and disorders of conscience with signs of dehydration A large proportion of the population had no family history of the disease, with a maximum between 8 and 12 years of age and a very high incidence in autumn The treatment of type 1 diabetes is only a palliative and its management is based on a vital prescription (insulin) associated essentially with four principles to guarantee its effectiveness: diet, physical activity, metabolic control, education and regular medical supervisionen_US
