Abstract

The DPPH test shows that the essential oil of the leaves of Xanthium strumarium and the hydrolate extract of the aerial part have an antioxidant capacity respectively (IC 50 0.405 and 0.668 mg / mL) higher than that of the BHT, but lower than that ascorbic acid. ethanolic and aqueous extract have an excellent antioxidant activity superior to that of ascorbic acid.
