Abstract
Our series includes the period from January 2018 to December 2019; it covers 15 cases of left colon,
average of 7, 5 cases per year. We found that people aged 60 and over are the most affected,
knowing that there is a clear predominance of women in 53,3 % of cases.
We have studied the origin of each patient the extent is 86.7% resident at the wilaya of Tlemcen
(Ghazaouet, Maghnia, Remchi),53.3% comes from the commune of Tlemcen because this is probably
due to the high density of inhabitants in this commune, but also 13.3% comes from Outside Wilaya.
First of all, of the 15 patients operated, 03 received adjuvant chemotherapy.
The stoma was present in 7 patients: Ileostomy in 5 patients and Colostomy in 2 patients.
Then we tracked our patients to see what their quality of life was and whether they had a
complication after the surgery.
We were able to conclude 8 deaths including 53.3% of our study. There have been various causes of
mortality, multiple metastases (bone, liver.), jaundice ascites, old age, but also sudden death...
Nevertheless, we have 7 surviving patients:
- We had 1 case where this patient’s quality of life is very poor due to recurrence.
- 1 case or alas its quality of life is moderately satisfactory with psychological disorders and ongoing
assistance.
- 5 patients have a very satisfied quality of life, they no longer feel any pain fatigue, they quickly
recovered and resumed their daily activity.
