Abstract
Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are a specific class of mobile ad hoc networks created by vehicles
communicating with each other on urban and rural roads. The well-known unicast routing protocols
implemented for MANETs (Mobile Area Networks) are not suitable for VANETs because of their high
mobility and frequent change of topology. As a result, routing in VANETs is a difficult task due to the highly
dynamic network topology.
The main objective of this PFE is to improve the A-RTIP protocol in order to avoid frequent communication
link failures, and to reduce the communication overhead between the mobile nodes.
