Titre: Using Realia for Developing Learners’ Speaking: Case of Third Year EFL Students at Tlemcen University

Résumé: The main purpose of this research work is to find out whether the use of realia helps in improving the students’ speaking skill in oral classes. It deals with the case of third year EFL students at the English department at Tlemcen University. The data were collected by conducting two questionnaires: one for third year EFL students and the other for teachers. They were analysed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results reached from the collected data show that the use of realia is very helpful for the students; it allows them to concentrate more and helps them to obtain greater productivity in speaking .In addition to that, the teachers are mindful of the benefits and advantages of using realia. Yet, they want realia to be just as a teaching aid not a method of teaching.
