Manifestation du malaise linguistique dans l'usage oral du français : Étude de l'ethos des étudiants algériens face à l'insécurité linguistique

Dans ce mémoire, nous étudions les manifestations de l’insécurité linguistique chez treize étudiants francophones à travers l’analyse de leurs productions orales en situation d’évaluation ainsi que leurs réponses à un questionnaire. Nous relevons des signes caractéristiques de ce malaise, tels que les hésitations, les pauses prolongées, les autocorrections, les ruptures d’énoncé, le recours au code-switching ainsi que l’évitement de certaines structures grammaticales. Ces comportements traduisent une tension entre les compétences langagières des apprenants et les normes académiques attendues, mais aussi une peur omniprésente. Cette insécurité est alimentée par des représentations linguistiques et sociolinguistiques. En nous appuyant sur les théories de Labov, Bourdieu et Calvet, nous avons compris comment ces représentations influencent les attitudes et les pratiques langagières des étudiants.

Investigating the Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools on EFL Students’ Critical Thinking in Academic Writing Case of 3rd Year Students at Tlemcen University

This study investigates the impact of Artificial Intelligence tools on EFL students’ critical thinking in academic writing among at Tlemcen University. Using an interview and two types of tests, the researchers found that AI can both support and/or hinder students’ critical thinking in academic writing, depending largely on how it is utilized. The findings highlighted that AI use can negatively affect EFL students by diminishing their critical thinking abilities and creativity in writing. Accordingly, specific recommendations are proposed at the end of the dissertation to mitigate these adverse effects and promote more thoughtful and effective integration of AI tools.

L’impact des consignes et des grilles critériées dans le dispositif d’évaluation de la compétence scripturale chez les élèves de 3ème année moyenne.

Ce travail de recherche s’intéresse aux facteurs influençant la réussite scolaire des élèves de 3ème année moyenne en français langue étrangère (FLE), en se focalisant particulièrement sur le rôle des consignes pédagogiques et des grilles d’évaluation critériées dans le développement de la compétence scripturale. L’étude vise à explorer comment ces deux outils didactiques fondamentaux peuvent orienter efficacement le travail des apprenants et améliorer leurs performances en production écrite. La recherche s’est appuyée sur une méthodologie comparée, impliquant un groupe expérimental bénéficiant de consignes explicites et de grilles d’évaluation critériées, et un groupe témoin évalué selon des pratiques traditionnelles. Les données ont été recueillies à travers l’analyse de productions écrites, des entretiens avec un inspecteur de l’éducation nationale, et l’observation de situations d’enseignement. Les résultats confirment que des consignes précises et détaillées permettent aux élèves de mieux comprendre les attentes et améliorent significativement leur compétence scripturale, tandis que l’utilisation de grilles d’évaluation critériées assure une évaluation plus objective et cohérente des productions écrites. L’étude démontre également que la qualité de la consigne influence directement celle de la production, et que les grilles d’évaluation favorisent l’autorégulation et l’autoévaluation chez les apprenants. Ces constats débouchent sur des recommandations pédagogiques concrètes visant à améliorer les pratiques d’enseignement et d’évaluation de la production écrite en contexte algérien.

Exploring EFL learners’ Information Technology Use in Dissertation Writing: Case of Second Year Master’s Students at Tlemcen University

This thesis explores the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools by second-year Master’s students in the English Department at Tlemcen University, focusing on their dissertation writing process. It examines the extent and manner of ICT integration, the benefits such tools offer (e.g., grammar checkers, citation managers, AI-based tools), and the challenges faced by these students (e.g., digital illiteracy, over-reliance on technology, lack of training). Using student and teacher questionnaires, the study reveals that while students acknowledge the value of ICT in improving efficiency and accuracy, their use of these tools often lacks critical depth. Educators agree on ICT's potential but stress the need for structured training and ethical use. The research concludes with recommendations for pedagogical reforms, formal ICT instruction, and institutional support to optimize the role of technology in academic writing

دور الترجمة في ترسيخ المكتسبات اللغوية للمتعلم_ تالميذ السنة الخامسة ابتدائي دراسة تطبيقية

This scientific study examines the impact of using translation as an educational tool in raising the level of fifth-grade primary school students in foreign languages. This study facilitates the understanding of linguistic concepts and links them to information they already know. It also highlights the importance of translation in motivating students and increasing their passion for learning, which positively affects their academic performance. The results demonstrate the possibility of employing translation within the educational strategies used, which helps improve the quality of education and develop academic levels.
